Chapter 5
FENG SHUI There are many ways to understand life and the universe. Through religion, superstition, philosophy, science, a tea cup, a leaf, and/or feng shui. The force that links man and his surroundings is called ch'i (human spirit, energy, cosmic breath, etc.) Harmony and balance are crucial factors. They pervade the PROCESS linking man and the universe. That process is called TAO. The Chinese link man to heaven and earth through Tao, dividing all things into complimentary dualities: Yin (females) and Yang (males). The way Ch'i carries and fills our bodies indicates health and destiny. The ch'i can be changed, redirected at will, to produce whatever effects we desire. Ch'i is the essence that makes a six year old child whom we have not seen since birth recognizable to us, even though the physical cells have been replaced by new ones many times over. Ch'i is the wind carrying the seed of change. The art of building our home and placement of the interiors of our home, establishes ch'i harmony balance (yin-yang) therefore determining our health, prosperity, happiness and ultimate destiny. The natural, orderly and gentle flowing of ch'i in our homes is the river of life flowing to a destination. Things that happen in our daily life are not just mere happenings. There are many possible and seemingly unrelated factors and occurrences leading to these events. As we become aware of the different planes of life, we then become more self-realized, hence we see with more clarity. |
